DUBBO REGIONAL COUNCIL Dubbo camp rd sewer rising main & sps

Dubbo Shire Council has an existing Sewage Wet Well on Camp Rd adjacent to the popular Dubbo Zoo which is unequipped with pumps and accepts sewage from the Dubbo Zoo and an adjacent subdivision. The well currently receives approximately 9,000litres of sewage per day and this inflow doubles during periods of school holidays. Up until now the wet well has been pumped out by tanker and transported 5km to the adjoining Cootha Sewage Pump Station this method has become costly and unhygienic and unacceptable by today’s health standards. The proposed project will consist of Pumps and pipeline to connect to the adjoining Cootha Sewage Pump Station.

• Supply and installation of an electrical switchboard and connection via underground cables to the adjacent power pole.
• Supply and installation of two 22kw electric submersible sewage pumps in a duty/standby arrangement and associated pipework into the existing Sewage Wet Well.
• Arrange connection to the electricity authority via existing power pole arrangement to the site and electrical reticulation within the pump station site.
• Supply and installation of 5.0km long sewage rising main 250mm PN12.5 Poly.
• Under bore Obley Rd as required
• Connection to the discharge pipeline into the existing in-service sewage manhole upstream of the existing Cootha Sewage Pump Station.
• Testing and Commission Pump system and pipeline.

• Project finished on schedule despite major wet weather delays.
• Excavation and pipe laying in proximity to existing infrastructure.
• No underground service strikes for the duration of the project
• Daily traffic management along roadside to eliminate traffic delays into Dubbo Zoo
• Working alongside existing busy Obley Rd roadway
• Working near over head powerlines that required power pole holding for excavation
• Directional Drilling activities.
