Project Overview
Carrathool Shire Council has secured funding for a Potable Water Reticulation System for the village of Rankin Springs. The project consisted of survey, site investigations, design, construction, testing and commissioning of reticulation mains capable of supplying potable water with required pressure and flow at all times throughout the village. Rankin Springs was currently supplied with stock and domestic raw water via a bore that has been found to have chemicals above the accepted ADWG. The project was undertaken through funding made available through Restart NSW Water Security for regions program.
Works Undetaken
- 4 Franklin VSD Multistage pumps to supply constant flow and pressure of 7l/s @650kpa
- 10km of 110mm and 75mm Poly reticulation mains running through the village
- 60 x 32mm Residential meter connections off reticulation mains
- Design supply and install suitably sized consumer mains from the supply authority transformer including construction of Pump electrical shed.
- Design supply and install Electrical pump shed Switchboard and Motor control centre including Variable Speed Pump drives and all to interface with councils clear Scada
- Testing and Commissioning
Highlights and Key Risks
- Project finished on schedule and on budget.
- Infield modifications to adapt to onsite issues found during the construction stage.
- No major disruption to town water supply through the project duration.
- Excavation and pipe laying in proximity to existing infrastructure
- No underground service strikes for the duration of the project
- RMS Road daily traffic management along roadside to eliminate traffic delays
